Working together for a sustainable future

We believe that when we are connected with nature, our lives are better. We are healthier and happier, and our communities are stronger, more equitable, and more economically competitive.

We proudly work with Greenway Corporate Champions to enhance people’s connections to nature.

In partnership with the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, the Greenway Corporate Champion program encourages Bellevue companies and their employees to experience the Greenway and get involved in caring for the green spaces within and surrounding their communities.

As Greenway Corporate Champions, companies and their employees have opportunities to participate in volunteer stewardship events at local parks and receive invitations to special events like Explore the Greenway Trips. Companies can join at one of four levels – Watershed ($1,000), Highlands ($3,000), Treeline ($5,000) and Summit ($10,000). With higher levels of support, companies have access to strategic advice on sustainability issues.  Funds at all levels support the Greenway Trust’s work to enhance outdoor recreation, mobilize volunteers, engage youth, and restore natural habitats.

In a rapidly urbanizing region, natural areas are vital for healthy living

Our region is experiencing one of the fastest population growth rates in the nation. While this is a boon for businesses and our economy, it comes with a challenge: our community’s green spaces are under increasing pressure.

With so many parks, trails, and natural lands across Washington state, more people
are spending time outdoors. Hikers in our area have increased seven times faster than the population overall!

Our close proximity to wilderness areas creates a unique setting and quality of life that attracts business and talent from around the world.

Greenway Corporate Champions

In partnership with the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, Greenway Corporate Champions support the continued economic vibrancy of the region by ensuring that we preserve our natural surroundings and enhance access to the green spaces we all cherish. This partnership leverages the energy of our outdoor-loving community for a sustainable future.

Spending time outdoors has been scientifically linked to

  • Improving attention spans and short-term memory
