Teanaway Campground
The Teanaway Campground offers 55 campsites with fire-rings on a first-come, first-served basis, including multiple group sites, walk-in sites along the Teanaway River, and equestrian sites on the North side of the camping area. The West Fork Trailhead, where several popular local hiking trails begin, is located a quarter mile up the West Fork Teanaway Road. Learn more about the West Fork Trails Plan here: Celebrating an Exciting Milestone for Trails in the Teanaway Community Forest – Mountains To Sound Greenway Trust. The Teanaway Campground is an excellent place to stay while volunteering with the Greenway Trust or our partners on trail maintenance projects.
The site has two ADA-accessible toilets and several more vault toilets. Please pack out all food waste and garbage. There is no potable water on site.
Once a maze of deteriorating roads, the Teanaway Campground is now a clearly marked loop offering amenities like a disc golf course, paths to the river, a bike repair station, and interpretive signage about the Teanaway Community Forest (TCF) and the logging town of Casland, which once stood where the camping area exists now. The Greenway Trust frequently works with the TCF land managers and advisory committee to host free interpretive events (like Picnic Table Birding or the River Poems Workshop) and volunteer clean ups in this camping area.
