Ryther Aspiring Youth at Mercer Island 2
In addition to our COVID-19 safety guidelines, please be prepared with the following:
For safety, volunteers are required to wear:
- Long pants made of sturdy material
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes
- Gloves (provided)
In addition, we recommend that participants bring:
- Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
- Rain gear
- Big sack lunch
- Long sleeved shirt
- At least one full water bottle
- Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc…
Luther Burbank Park, located on the north end of Mercer Island, is made up of 77 acres of open park area along Lake Washington and is managed by the City of Mercer Island. The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is partnering with the City to restore a wetland area in the south end of the park. These wetlands are home to 135 species of birds, 50 species of waterfowl, raccoons, beaver, muskrats, tree frogs and rabbit.
