Internship Focus: water systems, environmental health, communications and professional development

  • Develop communication skills: interviewing professionals, community education, speaking and writing, Microsoft office programs
  • Learn environmental work through field trips that focus on environmental issues and careers
  • Develop project ideas and proposals designed for your school and community

START AND END DATES

Summer: July 1 – August 15, 2019

School year: September 2019 – May 2020

COMPENSATION

Close to $16 per hour and an ORCA card

ABOUT THE KING COUNTY WASTEWATER TREATMENT DIVISION

King County WTD’s mission is to protect public health and enhance the environment by collecting and treating wastewater while recycling valuable resources for the Puget Sound region. King County WTD treats a total average of 175 million gallons of wastewater each day at our five treatment plants. We recognize the value hiding in urban waste streams and have developed safe and effective recycled products captured from the wastewater treatment process, such as recycled water, biosolids and biogas.
