Additional Information

The Greenway Trust has offered the Women in the Woods series since 2010 to address the gender gap in the trail community and build community for women-identified and non-binary outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you are a trail pro or are out to try trail work for the first time, Women in the Woods events are a blast.

Please note that due to the recent landslide on the Middle Fork Trail that resulted in trail closure, we must relocate this Women in the Woods project. The new location will be at the Tinkham Discovery Trail!

Women in the Woods volunteers will be constructing puncheon, elevated structures that help keep the trail surface dry. These repairs will reopen the trail to equestrians who cannot pass the current washout and provide ecologically sustainable structures to handle all user groups, including hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The Tinkham Discovery Trail is a short nature trail near the Tinkham Campground, connecting to trail to Mirror Lake and beyond.
