Event Overview

Join us for the Teanaway Community Forest’s first star gazing event! Dr. Cassie Fallscheer, an astrophysicist and astronomy professor at Central Washington University, will lead this beginner-friendly event out of the Teanaway Camping Area, where participants will learn about the sky above them.

Park by the disc golf course in the Teanaway Camping Area and check in by 7:30PM for a round of introductions and a brief intro to the Teanaway Community Forest. You can use the vault toilets in the camping area before the group turns on their headlamps and walks into the disc golf course field. The walk is short (under a quarter mile), but will cross uneven ground, without a formal trail, in the dark.

Registration is free, but limited to 20 people, and those of all ages are encouraged to join us. You will need a Discover Pass for parking. Bring: warm layers, a headlamp, and a camp pad/something to sit back on. If you have your own telescope, please feel free to bring that, too!
