Date & Time
Friday, April 19, 2019
Additional Information

Join Washington Wild & American Whitewater at Peddler Brewing Company for a free outdoor Public Lands Film Screening in the covered beer garden to celebrate Earth Day! Public Lands are places we all go to recreate and reconnect with nature. They are the places that protect our ancient old-growth forests, healthy watersheds and critical wildlife habitat. Join us in celebrating these special places that make our state such a wonderful place to live. In honor of last year’s 50th Anniversary of Wild & Scenic Rivers, we’ll be showing the film “Run Wild, Run Free.”

$1 per pint will be donated by Peddler Brewing Company to Washington Wild in honor of the Brewshed® Alliance. The Brewshed® Happy Hour runs all day! This event is family friendly.

FILM DESCRIPTION

RUN WILD, RUN FREE
This documentary tells the story of the origins of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, the bipartisan spirit that ushered the bill into law, and the courageous people that stood up and demanded protection for the remaining free-flowing and wild rivers. The film also highlights the many current campaigns across the country to designate more rivers, including Washington’s own Nooksack River.

Run Wild, Run Free takes the viewer through the history to the present of Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, as told through experts, grassroots organizers, whitewater enthusiasts, and members of the Nez Perce tribe in Idaho, and aims to inspire and educate people across the country to protect their home river under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act so we can continue this important legacy for future generations to come.
