Event Overview
Join us in keeping this lovely day-use area open and accessible! We will repair and maintain trailhead facilities, picnic areas and a 0.5-mile ADA loop trail. Gravel surfacing will be part of this event.

What to Expect: We will have fun and work at our own pace during this 4-hour work party. Our tasks will include clearing trail-side vegetation, maintaining and improving trail drainage, and adding surfacing to select areas. No prior experience necessary. Since some work may be moderately physically challenging, light-duty tasks are also available. This project is on flat terrain and requires minimal hiking, as projects are within a quarter mile of the trailhead. 8:30 to 9:00 AM: sign in and meet your leader and team 9:00 AM: Welcoming at the Middle Fork Trailhead, following which we will relocate to our work site at Camp Brown, for safety and project orientation. 12:30 PM: we will wrap up work in time for an afterparty at the Volition Brewery in North Bend. Please join us!

Additional Information

Camp Brown Day Use Area was constructed as a picnic area in the summer of 2019 through a collaborative effort between the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and the United States Forest Service Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Located alongside the Wild & Scenic Middle Fork River, this picnic area offers scenic vistas and safe access to the river for visitors to utilize and explore. In addition to the picnic sites, there is an ADA-accessible interpretive loop trail circling the area. This trail was constructed with the help of excavators and other large machinery, and is now in need of some maintenance to restore accessibility of the trail. Volunteers will work with the Greenway Trust to maintain the trail while enjoying sweeping views of Mount Garfield and the Middle Fork River.
