National Public Lands Day 2023!

Register
Registration is closed for this event
Date & Time
Saturday, September 23, 2023 | 10am-1pm
Priority Area:
Location
Middle Fork Trailhead
What You'll Be Doing
The Nature Trails are part of a loop trail system through second growth forest, complete with moss blanketed forest floors and access to the Taylor River. This makes it an awe inspiring place to explore with family and friends while camping at the Middle Fork Campground. Volunteers will support the Greenway Trust by moving gravel to complete the graveled trail, which provides a hardened trail surface and discourages social trail use throughout the area. There will also be brushing along trails to provide clear pathways for trail usage.
Project Difficulty
Moderate to Strenuous
Age Restriction
Ages 14 and up.
What to Bring

For safety, volunteers are required to wear:

  • Long pants (we’ll be working with tools)
  • Sturdy, close-toed shoes (absolutely no sandals)
  • Gloves

In addition, we recommend that participants bring:

  • Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
  • Rain gear
  • Water for the day
  • Small daypack for snacks, extra layers, etc.
Where to Meet and Parking Information
