Additional Information

Spring break for teens — A life-shaping experience

Perfect for hands-on learners who love using experiments and playing in the dirt!

The Farmland Exploration Course is a week long course designed for upper level middle schoolers and high schoolers ages 12-17. The course acts as an introduction for a number of STEM topics, allowing students to get a taste of whole farm management at the 21 Acres Certified Organic farm.

During this course students will gain valuable work experience which they can apply in a number of future career paths. Join us as we explore the world of sustainable farm practices through onsite student led experiments. Use Microscopes and scientific probes to test water quality and examine river and pond life. Bring home your own soil jar experiment. Create habitats to provide homes for native species of animals. Learn gardening and farming first hand from our expert organic farmers. Upon completion of the course students will receive a Certificate of Completion. Many of the topics covered in this course not only apply to agriculture but can also be used in other STEM careers.

Rewards for Completion: A Certificate of Completion, knowledge and firsthand experience of early season organic agriculture practices and land management.

We are offering two of these courses one from 4/2/18- 4/6/18 and the other from 4/9/18- 4/13/18 to match up with local spring break times. This session lines up with Snohomish and Lake Washington School District’s spring breaks.
