Welcome Glazer’s Camera!

Just when we thought the list of prizes couldn’t get any better, Glazer’s Camera has signed on as a prize sponsor of the first ever Greenway Photo Contest! It’s been cool to see local businesses get behind the first ever Greenway Photo Contest and Traveling Exhibition. As well as being about protecting this region’s natural resources, the Greenway is also about helping our locally-owned businesses to thrive, so we are excited to welcome Glazer’s Camera into the Greenway fold.

Glazer’s Camera, a third generation, locally-owned business, has been at the center of the region’s photographic community since it first opened near Pioneer Square in 1935. From talking with co-owner Rebecca Kaplan, it is obvious that Glazer’s understands the concept of their store being more than just a place to sell. Glazer’s hosts regular community events, exhibitions and workshops, so Rebecca was quick to lend her support to the Greenway Photo Contest and Traveling Exhibition. Many thanks Glazer’s Camera!

In other photo contest news, the jury met last weekend to select the winning images in each category. We will be contacting those winners over the next few weeks. The Traveling Exhibition will go on display to the public on August 15 at the Issaquah Community Center, the first stop on its tour of the Greenway! Be sure to come and check out the best-of-the-best photos!
