2000 Mountains to Sound Greenway March

How are you celebrating the Greenway’s 20th?

We are so excited to have our new website up and running. Thank you Groundwire! If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, give it a spin. Check out the interactive map, scroll through the great upcoming events, and learn about the many different areas in which we work. We hope you find it user friendly, fun and a site you return to often. Let us know your thoughts!

It’s a great time to launch the website because, as you may know, it’s the Mountains to Sound Greenway’s 20th Anniversary. We are celebrating in style throughout the year and hope you will join in on the fun!

Here are the ways in which you can join us:

Are you a hiker or biker or equestrian? The Mountains to Sound 20th Anniversary Trek is right around the corner. It is nine days of weaving through the trails of the Greenway on foot, by bike or by horse. It’s also a cherished Greenway tradition. A March in 1990 instigated the formation of the Trust. Ten years later, another March was held to celebrate how far we had come. This time, to celebrate 20 years of great work, the Trek will start in Ellensburg at one end of the Greenway and end on the Seattle Waterfront. 130 miles over 9 days- and you don’t have to carry your own gear! You can also join the fun for a day hike. There will be evening community events along the route with live entertainment and family-friendly fun if that’s more your speed. It’s all there in the Greenway for you to enjoy.

Are you a shutterbug? Enter your Greenway-inspired photos into our 20th Anniversary Photo Contest. Win prizes! If your photo is chosen among the best, your photo goes on tour in the cities of the Greenway during the last part of 2011. The contest closes July 15th so get snappin’!

It’s going to be EPIC to say the least!

We are also looking forward to the 8th Annual Mountains to Sound Greenway Summer Festivalstarting in June. Events, activities, community festivals…it’s going to be a whole lot of fun for everyone.

How do you plan to celebrate?
