Telephone Museum

Put down your smart phone for a moment and get smart about phones!  The oldest complete telephone museum west of the Mississippi covers the history of telephone technology from 1876 to 1970. According to the Northern Kittitas County Historical Society, Cle Elum was one of the last cities in the country to use a manual telephone switchboard. In September of 1966, Pacific Northwest Bell deeded the building housing its switchboard and other equipment to the Society to establish the Museum.
