Women in the Woods

Women working on the trail

Through our Women in the Woods program, we create several trail projects each year specially designed for women.  Whether you are a trail pro or are out to try trail work for the first time, Women in the Woods events are a blast.

Thanks to REI for sponsoring this great event!

Fall 2016 Project:

Saturday, September 17
Little Si

Calling all girls and women—join REI and the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust for the 2016 Women in the Woods event. Join other female volunteers and Greenway staff members to improve the Exit 32 climbing trails along the Little Si Trail. Whether you are a regular trail "user and improver" or a curious novice, this is a great way to get involved.

Our fall project will be focus on improving access to rock climbing areas from the Little Si Trail. As rock climbing continues to increases in popularity, the Little Si area has seen an increase in "social trails" leading to popular climbing routes. Volunteers will work to improve and create sustainable trails throughout this area.

Learn how to use a McLeod. Meet other women interested in the outdoors. And make a difference on local trails!

Register online here.

Minimum age is 14.  Work/hiking boots and long pants required.

If you have questions about this event or would like to bring your group out, please contact Anna Hendricks, Volunteer Program Coordinator.
