Outdoor Careers Field Day

Lake Sammamish State Park
Designed for youth groups to explore environmental careers through a hands-on experiential field day workshop. Fun and entirely outdoors, complete with exposure to outdoor careers such as recreation, field and stream work, growing healthy forest ecosystems, and natural resource management.

Who Should Attend?
This event is for youth participating in specific summer programming. Participants will attend as a group, with their group leads. Ages expected to be in attendance range from 12-24 years old.
As this is a pilot event, the field day is only open to youth participating in specific summer programming and is not open for individual sign-ups at this time.
Participating Partners (learn about their careers!)
Representatives from REI, Trout Unlimited, Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, Friends of the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (FISH), and Washington State Parks will be in attendance.
How Do I Sign Up?
Youth Group Leaders: Each youth group leader must complete a group form in advance of the event. This helps event coordinators organize logistics and coordinate with group leads ahead of the event. Please click here to complete your group form.
Participants: Field Day participants must have a completed waiver to attend this event — click here to complete your waiver.
What Should I Pack for Field Day?
- Wear clothes you are comfortable being outside in (no shorts or open-toed shoes). Remember, you will be outside all day! Be sure to wear clothes and shoes you are okay with getting a bit dirty.
- Bring extra layers (ex. a sweatshirt and a rain jacket)
- Bring a water bottle
- Bring a snack (lunch will be provided)
- Bring a backpack to carry your things
- Remember to complete your waiver before arriving!
