Maintenance at our Native Plant Nursery for MLK Weekend
For safety, volunteers are required to wear:
- Long pants
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes
- Gloves (provided)
In addition, we recommend that participants bring:

- Big sack lunch
- At least one full water bottle
- Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc.
- Reusable coffee mug
Join thousands of volunteers nationwide in making MLK weekend a "day on, not a day off." We will be celebrating MLK weekend by showing some love to our nursery.
The Greenway Native Plant Nursery is home to nearly 15,000 native trees and shrubs. The trees and shrubs at the nursery are potted by volunteers and will grow for 1-2 years before being planted in parks and forests along I-90. These trees and shrubs are an important part of keeping our natural areas healthy and potting these plants is the first step in restoring the areas.
