- *CANCELLED* Trailhead Restoration at Denny Creek/Franklin Falls
*CANCELLED* Trailhead Restoration at Denny Creek/Franklin Falls
Join us at Denny Creek/Franklin Falls trailhead for trailhead and trail restoration work. Tasks will include planting (sometimes on a slope), moving soil and mulch, removing old boardwalk materials, and digging out drains.
This is part of a larger project funded through the Great American Outdoors Act to improve this popular trailhead and associated trails.
For safety, volunteers are required to wear:
- Long pants (we’ll be working with tools, so no shorts!)
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes (absolutely no sandals)
- Gloves
In addition, we recommend that participants bring:
- Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
- Rain gear
- Big sack lunch
- Water for the day (3 liters minimum)
- Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc.
From I-90 east, take exit 47 Denny Creek/Tinkham Road. Turn left and cross over the freeway, then turn right at the stop sign onto Forest Road 58. After crossing under the freeway, turn left (0.2 miles later). Continue on this road for 2.9 miles. After passing the Denny Creek Campground, you will arrive at the large parking lots for Denny Creek/Franklin Falls. Follow the loop up and around to descend through the three parking lots. Look for Greenway signs and staff.
