Trail Work at Cheese Rock
Help us improve the popular Cheese Rock Trail! We will be constructing drainage dips along the trail, brushing, and beginning to clear a corridor for a trail reroute. Activities in this event include carrying tools and materials to the site (a quarter mile walk), digging, pruning with pruners and handsaws.
For safety, volunteers are required to wear:
- Long pants (we’ll be working with tools, so no shorts!)
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes (absolutely no sandals)
In addition, we recommend that participants bring:
- Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
- Rain gear
- Big sack lunch
- Water for the day
- Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc.
Directions: Start at I-90 exit 85 (Cle Elum). Go east on SR-970 for 6.9 miles. Turn left on Teanaway Road. Go 7.3 miles. Turn left on West Fork Teanaway Road for .6 miles. Turn right on Middle Fork Teanaway Road. Go 3.9 miles. Turn left into Indian Camp campground.
