Event Overview

We need your help to keep Washington trails and trailheads safe and accessible this spring!

Our work will include repair and maintenance to trailhead facilities and the river access trail. We may also do some restoration work. We will brush back encroaching vegetation, install woody debris and plants on eroded slopes, remove invasive plants, and possibly do a bit of trail surfacing.

Difficulty
Moderate to Strenuous
Age Restriction
Ages 14 and up.
What to Bring

For safety, volunteers are required to wear:

  • Long pants (we’ll be working with tools, so no shorts!)
  • Sturdy, close-toed shoes (absolutely no sandals)
  • Gloves

In addition, we recommend that participants bring:

  • Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
  • Rain gear
  • Big sack lunch
  • Water for the day (3 liters minimum)
  • Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc.

Additional Information

The Russian Butte View Day Use Area is a small river access point located along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road. It features a short, gentle trail leading from a paved parking lot directly to the river, providing visitors with convenient access to the water.

The area offers picturesque views of nearby peaks, including Garfield Mountain and Russian Butte. The site is used be boaters seeking calm waters for launching watercraft.

Amenities at this site are minimal, with no facilities available. The parking area is a small pull-out, and a brief walk through the woods leads to the riverbank.

This spot is popular for activities such as boating, picnicking, and enjoying the natural scenery of the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River and surrounding mountains.
