Restoration Open House at Lake Sammamish State Park
Lake Sammamish State Park is a regional gem, home to diverse wildlife and enjoyed by more than two million people each year. But to keep it healthy and beautiful for future generations, it needs our care! Community-led restoration efforts are revitalizing its 512 acres—improving wildlife habitat, supporting salmon recovery, boosting carbon sequestration, and enhancing the visitor experience.
Join us for an open house and walking tours on Thursday, April 3 from 5–7:30 p.m. to meet the experts behind this work, connect with your community, and learn how you can get involved!
- 5-6 p.m. | Enjoy refreshments and meet groups doing restoration work in the park
- 6-6:30 p.m. | Learn about the upcoming Issaquah Creek Restoration Project – one of the largest in the park’s history!
- 6:30-7:30 p.m. | Explore the park on a guided walking tour for a deeper dive into habitat restoration efforts and why they matter
Hear about key restoration efforts, including our Issaquah Creek In-Stream Restoration project kicking off this summer—one of the largest in the park’s history and the biggest the Greenway Trust has ever led! After the presentation, join a walking tour to see project sites up close and discuss our collective impact.
We look forward to sharing this exciting work and hope you'll join us in making Lake Sammamish State Park a model for community-based restoration!
