Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust continues to work to protect the Middle Fork Valley of the Snoqualmie River though restoration and trail work. To do this successfully, the Greenway Trust partners with land managers to promote and assist in sustainable, best managment practices on the lands and the trails in the valley. At the Middle Fork Natural Area, we partner with King County Parks and Recreation to restore a native conifer canopy along the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River by removing invasive species that have been introduced to the area via cars, hikers, construction, etc. With increased traffic to the valley, it is more important than ever to remove invasive species from the area before they can establish. Volunteers will be focused on removing invasive black berries to make room for native tree plantings. Volunteers can expect to be impressed by the valley views and by the positive impact they will have on the Middle Fork Natural Area. |
