Esmeralda Basin Trailhead Ambassador

Education and stewardship are vital for protecting public lands; when trail users learn how they impact the land, they are empowered to make decisions that ensure public lands remain enjoyable for generations to come. Trailhead Ambassadors help educate visitors about responsible recreation, which can reduce negative impacts to the land. As a volunteer ambassador you'll work alongside Greenway Staff to welcome visitors, answer questions, and provide information and education about Leave-No-Trace, so forest visitors have everything they need for a great time.

Please bring:

• Water, lunch, and snacks
• Extra layers
• Sunscreen

From Cle Elum, follow Highway 970 east and north approximately 8.5 miles and turn left on Teanaway Road North Fork and follow for 13 miles. Then veer right on Forest Road 9737 and follow for about 9.6 miles to the Esmeralda trailhead.

Limited parking. Maintain access for emergency vehicles. Be prepared to walk longer distances to the trailhead. If the trailhead is full, park ONLY on the west side of the road to allow safe traffic flow. Gravel road in good condition, accessible by most vehicles.
