Event Overview
Join us by the West Fork Teanaway River for Picnic Table Birding on Saturday, May 31st! This event, suitable for all ages and levels of experience, will introduce participants to the birds of the Teanaway Community Forest from their seats at the picnic table. Deb Essman (Kittitas County Field and Stream) and Martha Wyckoff (Teanaway Community Forest Advisory Committee) will lead the group in identifying birds by sight, sound, and movement.

Meet at the Teanaway Camping Area walk-in site parking (Discover Pass required) to check in for the event by 8:30AM. Once you’ve checked in with Vince Pruis (vince.pruis@mtsgreenway.org, 509-818-7565), top off your tea or coffee with some of the hot water provided and take your seat. Here, you’ll learn about the Teanaway Community Forest, home to over 150 species of birds, and practice birding with two experts and enthusiasts. Remember to bring: layers for the weather, a Discover Pass for parking, and binoculars if you have them. Hot water, some spare binoculars, and Teanaway Bird Lists will be provided.
