Additional Information

Northwest Folklife is proud to produce the 8th annual Seattle Children’s Festival, taking place virtually October 16-17, 2021 from 11am-3pm at nwfolklife.org/scf. This year’s festival will be a virtual event with a special focus on the unique regions or neighborhoods in the greater Seattle area.

As always, the virtual Festival will provide a host of local artists and culture bearers that encourage families to dance, learn, play and sing together. But this year, the live stream will highlight the histories and unique offerings from various parts of the city. Northwest Folklife recognizes that each neighborhood has its own story, and is excited to explore the history and changing landscapes that each area represents through storytelling, activities, performances, and workshops. This year it will specifically be focusing on: The Chinatown-International District; Ballard; Rainier Valley; and, The Eastside.

The virtual Seattle Children’s Festival passport will return as a fun and interactive guide through all aspects of the virtual festival. Those who collect all four stamps can be entered to win a gift basket full of goodies, books, games and more!
