Suzannah Yu (she/her) is an educator who believes that when young people have the space to explore and nurture connections with the natural world, care can bloom into action. A Seattle-area local, she is rooted in nonprofit environmental education and community engagement. Whether deepening ecological understanding with youth while meandering through watersheds or hands-on stewardship projects, she is passionate about place-based learning that sparks wonder and joy. She approaches education as a shared journey, nurturing young people’s ideas, co-creating experiences rooted in their voices and communities, and supporting youth in seeing themselves as capable stewards of our shared home. With nature as her guide, she can often be found frolicking through the mountains to the tune of birdsong, paddling rivers while alongside salmon, or delighting in the extraordinary creatures found in our tidepools.
