Shenise Ramirez

With the Greenway Trust since 2022

Shenise Ramirez (they/them) weaves stories out of the symbiotic relationships the Greenway welds between humans, animals, and plant life. Before landing at the Greenway Trust, they spent seven years backpacking from newsrooms to mountains on the East Coast, looking for inspiration outside the range of a Slack ping. Shenise relocated to the Seattle area after falling in love with Washington’s rich natural history and its residents’ commitment to preserving it. With a BA in Journalism from SUNY Purchase, they use multimedia storytelling to translate research into stories that bring communities behind the scenes of solutions-based environmental science. They believe intersectional storytelling creates fertile ground for past transgressions to grow into an environmentally just future.
