Mountain biking on Tiger just got better

If you haven’t been mountain biking on Tiger Mountain recently, it is time for another visit. The Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recently teamed up with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (EMBA) to add a new three mile connection that expands the trail system on Tiger Mountain to 12 miles.

EMBA’s professional trail building crews were contracted to lead the construction of the new trail, with support from DNR staff and Puget SoundCorps Crews. The trail construction was funded by two grants through the Washington Wildlife & Recreation Program and the Non-highway & Off-Road Vehicle Activities Program.

“We are thrilled to continue building a sustainable mountain bike trail system with diverse experiences and loop opportunities in the backyard of the Seattle metropolitan area,” said Sam Jarrett, DNR Snoqualmie Corridor Recreation Manager. “We’ve recently secured two additional grants which will allow us to continue expansion towards a future trail system goal of roughly 25 miles on east Tiger Mountain.”

Tiger Mountain is part of the Issaquah Alps and has a plethora of nearby hiking and biking opportunities just minutes from the Seattle-Bellevue metropolitan area. This close access to recreation is part of what makes the Greenway such a special place to live, work and play. So get outside and enjoy these new trails!
