The Kokanee are unique to Lake Sammamish and are in danger of becoming extinct. Some of Trout Unlimited’s work includes: protecting the Kokanee’s access to spawning areas\, educating fisherman to properly identify Kokanee\, educating residents about environmentally-friendly lawn care\, and more. \nSee website for detailed Covid-19 safety precautions.

DESCRIPTION:Students 8 and up can deepen their sense of wonder in nature through inquiry\, exploration\, and art! Through an hour-long program covering topics such as beauty and love in the outdoors\, the Wonder Ranger Program helps cultivate communication\, critical thinking\, and creative skills in youth. Specific programming will differ each week. Reservations are encouraged. Programming starts at 1 p.m. on Saturdays\, from July 13th to August 31st. Meet at the Sunset Beach Bathhouse.

SUMMARY:Birdathon Field Trip Series: Lake Sammamish State Park Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:This field trip is part of Eastside Audubon’s Birdathon fundraiser. A donation of $25 or more is encouraged to support the conservation\, education\, and advocacy work of our chapter. \nJoin us for a memorable morning walk through Lake Sammamish State Park. This urban park offers a wide assortment of birds and habitats due to its varied ecosystems. The trip will involve walking approximately 2-3 miles. Dress appropriately (rainproof in layers; some of the trails can be muddy if wet). Make your gift online (https://conta.cc/2IccG5g) or bring $25 cash or check day of event. \nMeet before 6:30 a.m. just inside the main entrance\, take the first left into the large parking lot and meet at the northeast end.
