SUMMARY:Samish/Skagit Flats Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:November can be an excellent time for raptors and waterfowl in the Samish/Skagit Flats. We will get an early start to explore the area. We will be looking for hawks\, falcons\, eagles and harriers\, as well as ponded fields with waterfowl (we will hope for a Eurasian Wigeon in with the American Wigeons). We will also be looking for Passerines\, and maybe a Northern Shrike. Come prepared for possible wet/windy weather. Bring scopes\, lunch\, fluids and a Discover Pass. \nCarpool $20 per passenger. SUMMARY:Whidbey Island Birding Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Birding on Whidbey Island is excellent any time of the year\, but fall is particularly good. We will start at the south end of the island and work our way north. We will be looking for loons\, grebes\, alcids\, waterfowl\, passerines\, and raptors. We will meet at 7:00 AM at the north end of the Kingsgate Park & Ride to carpool and to catch a 7:30 AM ferry. Scopes are very helpful. Bring lunch\, a Discover Pass if you have one.
