Clean Water Ambassadors Internship

Response to COVID-19 Outbreak

Given the current physical distancing restrictions and the uncertainty of when people will be able to gather in person again, we have decided to postpone the application posting of the Clean Water Ambassadors internship. We’re eager to adapt this internship program to work within restrictions that exist this summer. We will post updates here as we have them.

If you have questions about Greenway education events, please contact Becca Kedenburg – becca.kedenburg@mtsgreenway.org.

The Greenway Trust partners with King County Wastewater Treatment Division to offer a paid internship for teens 15-18 years old. For seven weeks in the summer, the interns learn about human and natural water systems while honing professional communication and leadership skills. During the school year, the interns work another 40+ hours on projects that make a difference in their communities.

2019-20 Clean Water Ambassadors
  • Learn about environmental and social justice issues by participating in field trips and workshops
  • Improve communication skills through interviewing professionals, educating community, public speaking and professional writing
  • Develop and implement project proposals designed for your school and community

Applications for the 2020-21 internship will be open April 1 through May 13 at tinyurl.com/KCemployeecareers. We strongly encourage applicants who are underrepresented in environmental careers and are new to exploring environmental topics. To make your application more competitive, please participate in one of these events:
