SUMMARY:The City of Woodinville Arbor Day 2019
DESCRIPTION:The City of Woodinville is celebrating their Arbor Day on November 9\, 2019. Join the City and the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust in comprehensive habitat restoration\, including tree planting\, at Rotary Community Park! \nRotary Community Park is an 18-acre multi-use park\, which includes a skatepark\, climbing rock\, and an awesome elevated boardwalk around a wetland area. Arguably the most important environmental aspect of this park is that the area is home to 2\,300 feet of Little Bear Creek. Critical salmon species\, six types in total\, use this creek as spawning and migrating habitat. Originally the Park was designed and implemented through a partnership with several nonprofits\, private companies\, and the Rotary Club who were all interested in protecting this important habitat. Volunteers and the City of Woodinville will be continuing this mission by planting trees and completing habitat restoration near Little Bear Creek on the City’s Arbor Day. \nNo experience necessary. All training provided. Be prepared to get muddy\, as this site can be wet in the fall months. \nThank you!
