DESCRIPTION:Washington State Parks offers several “free days” when a Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park. Find a park here: parks.state.wa.us/findapark. Following are the 2021 State Parks free days: \n\nJan. 1 — First Day Hikes; New Year’s Day\nJan. 18 — Martin Luther King\, Jr. Day\nMarch 19 — State Parks’ 108th Birthday\nApril 3 — Springtime free day\nJune 5 — National Trails Day\nJune 12 — National Get Outdoors Day\nJune 13 — Free Fishing Day\nAug. 25 — National Park Service Birthday\nSept. 25 — National Public Lands Day\nNov. 11 — Veterans Day\nNov. 26 — Autumn free day\n\nPlease note\, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities). A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington state departments of Natural Resources and Fish & Wildlife on all other days. Sno-Park permits are still required on free days at designated Sno-Parks during the winter season. \nThe Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission manages more than 100 state parks and properties totaling approximately 120\,000 acres. The Commission provides a variety of recreation opportunities for citizens and provides stewardship protection for a diverse array of natural\, cultural and historic resources.
