SUMMARY:Restoration at the Middle Fork Natural Area: National Public Lands Day
DESCRIPTION:Join the Greenway Trust and King County Parks and Recreation to restore native conifer canopy along the Middle Fork River at the Middle Fork Natural Area. Help us remove invasive species that have been introduced by boot and tire tread\, wildlife\, and road construction. With more people in the Middle Fork\, it is important to remove invasive species from the area before they can establish and crowd out important native vegetation. Volunteers will focus on removing invasive blackberry plants to make room for native tree plantings. Joining the event will be Mark Boyar\, a committed volunteer who has devoted much of his time to restoring the Valley\, who will share his stories about the Middle Fork and the decades-long campaign to stop the encroachment of invasive weeds. Hosted by King County Parks and Recreation and the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust \nFollowed by the REI Co-op Cheers for Volunteers celebration at the Middle Fork Campground
