SUMMARY:Lead-a-Llama in the Teanaway Community Forest
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand\, Charley Rosenberry of Rocking R Ranch is hosting another Lead-a-Llama event! The morning will begin with an introduction to approaching\, packing\, and leading llamas. Rosenberry\, who trains his llamas in the Teanaway to prepare them for packing trips supporting people with Parkinson’s\, will teach us about llamas and how they can make outdoor recreation more accessible. \nPark along the Indian Camp equestrian expansion kiosks and check in by 10AM for a round of introductions and a brief intro to the Teanaway Community Forest. Rosenberry will talk about how to safely interact with and lead the llamas before our hike begins and you have the opportunity to lead them yourself. The hike is short (under 2 miles) on packed dirt\, but it does involve some rapid elevation gain\, so be prepared! This event takes two hours\, so bring water\, comfortable walking shoes\, layers\, and snacks. \nRegistration is free\, but limited to 20 people\, and those of all ages are encouraged to join us. You will need a Discover Pass for parking. \nBathrooms: There is a single-stall ADA accessible toilet in the Indian Camp equestrian expansion.
