SUMMARY:National Public Lands Day 2021
DESCRIPTION:This event is subject to change due to ongoing public health guidelines\, thank you for your understanding. \nThe Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is celebrating National Public Lands Day (NPLD) 2021 in the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River Valley. The Middle Fork is 98% publicly-owned and managed by the United States Forest Service\, the Washington Department of Natural Resources\, and King County with collaborative support from partner nonprofits\, businesses\, and community members. \nVolunteers will be assisting the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and the United States Forest Service at Snoqualmie Lake Trailhead\, a popular access point for day hikers and backpackers heading to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness as well as sightseerers and campers along the Taylor River. Volunteer projects may include salvaging native plants\, clearing vegetation for expanded picnic areas\, trash pick up\, and other trailhead improvement projects.Though this event will look different in years past\, it will still capture our love for public lands through trail restoration and stewardship opportunities. \nWe will be following public health guidelines to protect staff and volunteers from COVID-19.
