SUMMARY:Granite Creek Trail Maintenance: National Public Lands Day
DESCRIPTION:The Granite Creek trail offers a quiet getaway from the popular hikes along I-90. Hikers will wander switchbacks through second growth forest among the massive stumps of once-towering old growth with occasional views of the Middle Fork Valley. The Greenway Trust and volunteers are working hard to maintain this trail\, but the work is ongoing. In addition to reoccurring trail maintenance tasks\, volunteers will work alongside leaders to restore habitat along the Granite Creek Trail. For this event\, the Greenway Trust is partnering with the King County Weed Watchers program to help identify\, remove\, and prevent the return of invasive species along the trail. Hosted by the Washington Department of Natural Resources and the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust Followed by the REI Co-op Cheers for Volunteers celebration at the Middle Fork Campground.
