In partnership with the City of Mercer Island, Mountains to Sound Greenway volunteers will help build a new trail along SE 84th St that parallels Upper Luther Burbank Park. 

Mercer Island is graced with 35 parks, over 400 acres of parks and natural areas, and more than 50 miles of trails. Volunteers have been improving these parks for many years, planting native trees and shrubs and removing invasive plants to restore wildlife habitat.  In addition to this on-going environmental restoration work, Greenway volunteers will now be focusing on increasing access to the park and surrounding areas for families and local residents by constructing this new trail.  Activities will include clearing brush, crafting a sustainable tread and installing a gravel surface.
