Snoqualmie Falls

Snoqualmie Falls view aboveSnoqualmie Falls plunges 270 feet to create a spectacular natural attraction, drawing millions of visitors each year. A trail leads to viewing platforms and down switchbacks to the foot of the falls.

Directions: From I-90 take exit 25, head north and follow signs to the falls.

Paths to viewpoints are wheelchair-accessible.

History: The Snoqualmie Tribe regards Snoqualmie Falls as its birthplace.

Snow melt from the Cascades feeds the Snoqualmie River as it cuts through the valley to plunge over the falls. Puget Sound Energy operates a small, underground hydroelectric project at the falls to generate electricity for the growing regional population. Built in the 1890s, it is one of the Northwest's oldest hydropower facilities.
