Recreation in the Greenway
The Mountains to Sound
Greenway, stretching from Seattle to Central Washington along I-90, encompasses hundreds of thousands of acres of public land offering outdoor recreational
opportunities for all types of users. Over 1,600 miles of trails offer numerous
possibilities for high country hikers, families and commuters. Alpine lakes and lush river valleys provide spectacular camping sites. In addition, abundant opportunities for horseback
riding, paddling, biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, fishing, and
wildlife watching are all within a 30-minute drive from downtown Seattle with
opportunities for more secluded trips just further
afield.
Detailed hiking information can be found in "Day Hiking Snoqualmie Region" by Dan A. Nelson. You may become a Friend of the Greenway and receive a copy of this hiking book, free, with your gift.
