The local Thorp Mill Town Historical Preservation Society has cared for this historic mill and the land around it, preserving a piece of Kittitas County history for generations to come. The Mill played an important role in the settlement of the upper county, processing grain and grist for people and livestock as towns grew up around farms, mines, and railroad lines.
