Carter Motors: Greenway Trees

Volunteers at Greenway tree nurseryCarter Subaru, Carter Volkswagen and Carter Subaru Ballard are helping offset their carbon footprint.

How?

With a tree!

Carter at Lake Sammamish tree planting kickoffFor every person who test drives a car at one of their Seattle locations, Carter Motors will make a donation to plant a tree in the Mountains to Sound Greenway along I-90 in Washington State. For each car purchase, Carter will fund the planting of three additional trees.

Carter has funded the planting of over 27,000 trees in the Greenway.

“Carter Subaru/VW is making a significant contribution to the health of people, and of Greenway forests and their ability to absorb carbon dioxide. Forests reduce storm water runoff, clean carbon and pollutants out of the air, provide salmon and other wildlife with critical habitat, control soil erosion and increase property values. We are very grateful to Carter for their efforts to beautify our region,” says Cynthia Welti, Executive Director of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust.

Carter Subaru/VW representatives Don Lindner, Danny Levine, Mary Carter and Sara Carter joined the Greenway Trust at the tree planting kickoff at Lake Sammamish State Park in October.

Greenway Trust volunteers and field crews will plant and care for the trees in public forests in the 100-mile Greenway corridor.

In one year the average car puts over 5 tons of carbon dioxide into the air.
