The American Red Cross’s project to plant trees in the footprint of the Taylor Bridge Fire on Saturday ended early after more than 250 volunteers managed to plant all 3,000 ponderosa pine trees in about an hour and a half.

The American Red Cross’s project to plant trees in the footprint of the Taylor Bridge Fire on Saturday ended early after more than 250 volunteers managed to plant all 3,000 ponderosa pine trees in about an hour and a half.

The afternoon of tree planting was the second phase of Operation: Lorax. During the first phase in October, also on Lookout Mountain, volunteers planted 2,000 trees.
