Teanaway Forest open house set Thursday
If you’ve got ideas about how the future of Washington’s first state-managed community Forest, you’re invited to share them at next Thursday’s Teanaway Community Forest open house in Cle Elum.
The 5:30-8 p.m. event at the Swauk Teanaway Grange, 1361 W. Ballard Hill Road, will give the public an opportunity to provide input on topics such as watershed protection, working lands, recreation, and fish and wildlife in the Teanaway. Staff members from the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Fish and Wildlife will be on hand to discuss each subject, along with members of the forest’s advisory committee.
The forest management plan being developed by the two state agencies and the advisory committee, with public input at numerous events like this one, is due by the end of June 2015. For more information or to comment online, go here.
