Festivals this weekend: Brewers Fest, Greenway fun and berry good times
Summer festival season is rolling in like the aroma of onion burgers on a carnival midway. Here's a sampling of what's on this weekend:
Washington Brewers Festival: Here's a Father's Day weekend event that appeals to a lot of folks no matter their gender or parental status. More than 60 craft breweries pour more than 200 beers. Greenway Summer: The Mountains to Sound Greenway celebrates its 20th year with a kickoff for its Greenway Summer, billed as "100 miles, 100 events, 100 days." This weekend, find hikes, walks, tours and special events along the Interstate 90 corridor, including Dachshunds on Parade, in Ellensburg. Details at mtsgreenway.org.
Celebrate strawberries: You may not find many ripe yet, thanks to the cool spring, but that doesn't stop the festivals. This weekend brings Berry Dairy Days in Burlington, Skagit County; Burien Wild Strawberry Festival, Marysville Strawberry Festival, the Red Rooster Route Strawberry Celebration, in Arlington, and a festival at Remlinger Farms, in Carnation.
