 Greenway Days is just the beginning of all of the free & fun activities and unique places you can enjoy in the Mountains to Sound Greenway this summer!


Click on one of the cities below to see what Greenway Summer events are occurring along I-90 between June 21st and October 3rd. With hundreds of events sprinkled over 10 communities, there's something for everyone! (Click on each event for more details!)

Cedar River Watershed Education Center

Rattlesnake Ledge Geology Hike
June 24 from 2-5pm
Explore the ancient volcano, glacial ice, melt-water floods, and underground rivers that shaped the land and waterways of the Cedar River Watershed during a moderately strenuous interpretive hike to the summit of Rattlesnake ledge, one of the most spectacular vistas in the region.

Summer Public Watershed Tours

Weekends July 9 to September 5 from 9:45am-12:40pm
 Come on an interpretive bus tour with spectacular views for in-depth information on water, land and people. Ages 12+. Cost is $10 adults, $5 seniors/youth. Registration begins May 1.

Owls & Woodpeckers
July 24 from 9am-12pm
Join photographer Paul Bannick for a slide presentation from his book The Owl and the Woodpecker. Then take a tour of the forested habitats inside the closed boundaries of the Cedar River Municipal Watershed. Bring water and a snack. Ages 10+. Cost is $15.

Twilight Tour of Historic Cedar Falls Town
September 25 from 6-8:30pm or
September 26 5-7:30pm
Take a stroll in the twilight to explore the remaining houses and discover the stories of those who worked, lived and grew up in Cedar Falls, the historic town site and birthplace of Seattle City Light.

The Festival at Mt Si
August 13 from 6-10pm &
August 14 from 8am-10pm &
August 15 from 8am-4pm
Celebrate the 9th annual festival at the base of Mt Si with plenty of events for everyone, including arts & crafts vendors, multiple music stages, kids Fun Zone, cherry pie eating contest, Tour de Peaks bicycle ride and the Grand Parade!

 

Snoqualmie

4th of July Train Rides
July 3 & 4
Celebrate the country's birthday with a train ride and a hot dog at the Snoqualmie and North Bend depots.

Day Out With Thomas™
July 9-11 & 16-18
Ride Thomas the Tank Engine™ to the top of Snoqualmie Falls. Snoqualmie Depot only. Tickets sold in advance.

Courage Classic Bicycle Tour
August 7-9
A 3-day, 174 mile ride which takes participants through beautiful Snoqualmie, Blewett and Stevens Passes.

Snoqualmie Railroad Days
August 20-22 from 7am-9pm
Celebrate the 72nd annual festival at the Snoqualmie Depot, featuring the firemen's pancake breakfast, Grand Parade, chilren's entertainment on the Skagit River Railway stage, arts & crafts, delicious food, historically-significant railway equipment in action, and more.

Grandparents ride FREE with a paying grandchild of any age.

 

Issaquah

Summer Evening Hours
all summer, Thursday from 4-8pm
Come to the Issaquah Train Depot and enjoy live music on the depot deck.

Down Home 4th of July & Heritage Festival
July 4 from 11am-2pm
Don't miss your chance to get your hands on history wit the opportunity to churn butter, operate the historic pump car, and many other activities celebrating Issaquah's history.

Concerts on the Green
Tuesdays, July 6 - August 31 from 7-8:30pm
Come listen to a free concert on the Issaquah Community Center lawn.

Summer History Program
July 10 at 11am
Learn about the history and restoration of the Hailstone Feed Store at the Issaquah Train Depot.

Cycle the WAVE
September 19 at 7am
Join the 3rd annual all-women's non-competitive bicycle ride, with the 25, 40 or 62 mile ride option, starting and ending at Tibbetts Valley Park.

Issaquah Salmon Days Festival
October 2 & 3 from 10am-6pm daily
Join in the 41st anniversary celebration of the return of salmon to local waters with art, food, music, a Grande Parade and more. Sporting weekend activities on September 25 & 26.

 

Redmond

Redmond Derby Days
July 9 from 6-10pm &
July 10 from 10am-10pm
Celebrate the 70th year of summer tradition for the City of Redmond with tons of activities for young and old. Events include live music, parades, the Field of Fun for Kids, a Funtastic carnival, fireworks, and The Bicycle Criterium, America's longest running bicycle race.

 

Bellevue

Strawberry Festival
June 26 from 10am-8pm &
June 27 from 10am-5pm
Celebrate the history of Bellevue and the Eastside with fresh strawberry shortcake, multiple entertainment stages, exhibits, games, strawberry shortcake eating contests, an auto show and more.

Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center

High Adventure Camp
July 12-16 & July 19-23
One week outdoor camp that includes canoeing, climbing, trail work, and backpacking. Ages 12-17

Cascade Backpacking Adventure
August 2-4 & August 9-11
Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature on a 3-day backpacking trip. Ages 12-17

Pops in the Park
August 7 from 5:30-8:30pm
Enjoy a free concert at Bellevue's Botanical Garden.

Lake-to-Lake Greenway Trail Walk
September 18 from 8am-3pm
A beautiful 15K or 6K walk highlighting the best of Bellevue's Parks and Open Space System.

 

Mercer Island

Offering a wide variety of fresh, local edibles and a host of fun, educational & community-building events.

Summer Celebration!

September 25 from 1-4pm
Equipment is provided to promote going outdoors and playing with your kids at Mercerdale Park.

 

Seattle

Mountains to Sound Relay
June 27 starting at 2pm
Celebrate the finish of the 100-mile Mountains to Sound Relay at Golden Gardens Park. Spectators can cheer on as racers cross the finish line, listen to the live broadcast by "KMTT The Mountains" and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
