Event Partners
Greenway Days invites all organizations with
a common desire to support and interpret the natural and cultural history of the Greenway to become an Event Partner. Event Partners organize, staff and implement activities within 20 miles to the north or south of I-90 during Greenway Days in support of the environment. In return, Event Partners will expand awareness about their organization, access new prospects, and receive publicity in the Greenway Days Festival Guide and on our web site.
Event Partners include, but are not limited to:
municipalities, public agencies, Chambers of Commerce, historical societies, public and private event producers, businesses, media sponsors, clubs, organizations, and civic groups.

What is Greenway Days?
Greenway Days is an annual festival held each year to celebrate the Mountains to Sound Greenway, a 100-mile long stretch of open space along the I-90 corridor. Greenway Days builds public awareness of the Greenway's scenic, recreational and historic assets. For 6 years, close to 20 organizations and municipalities have partnered with the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust to offer a variety of activities to residents among the various communities along the I-90 corridor. In 2008, Greenway Days offered 25 events in 10 localities from Cle Elum to Seattle.
Who can become an Event Partner?
Event Partners may include, but are not limited to: municipalities, public agencies, Chambers of Commerce, historical societies, public and private event producers, media sponsors, clubs, organizations, and civic groups, all with a common desire to support and interpret the natural and cultural history of the Greenway.
What types of events will be included?
Any event occurring along the Greenway is eligible for inclusion in Greenway Days, especially those that:
-
occur within approximately 20 miles to the north or south of I-90,
-
are open to the public,
-
are free of charge, or charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost to participate, or
-
highlight the beauty and benefits of the Greenway’s nature, culture and history.
Why should my organization partner with Greenway Days?
As a Greenway Days Event Partner, each organization agrees to follow city, county and US Forest Service rules to produce a safe and enjoyable activity that promotes their organization and brings people out into the Greenway. In exchange, the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust promotes partner organizations and events through advertising, newspaper and magazine calendar listings, posters, and distribution of the Greenway Days festival guide to over 220,000 individuals and households. In addition, all events will be listed on the Greenway Days web site with a potential for over 1,000 hits a month, as occurred in 2008. Over 5,000 individuals participated in Greenway Days in 2007. By hosting an event during Greenway Days, your organization will access new prospects, expand awareness, and support the environment.
What are my responsibilities as a Greenway Days Event Partner?
Once selected as a Greenway Days Event Partner, your organization will receive additional information about cross marketing, signage, etc. In addition, your organization will be responsible for:
-
providing Greenway Days with accurate information about your event for inclusion in the Greenway Days festival guide (March 1, 2010 deadline – see the Event Partner Application for details);
-
working with the appropriate officials to obtain the necessary city, county or state permits for your event;
-
organizing, staffing and implementing the event itself;
-
working with the Greenway Days Organizing Committee to cross-market Greenway Days in your organization’s promotional efforts. This may include using the Greenway Days logo in your materials where appropriate;
-
participating in meetings as needed to present your event, pick up Greenway Days signs and banners, etc.
What additional marketing opportunities does my organization have?
In addition to being included in the Greenway Days festival guide and web site, your organization may choose to become a sponsor of Greenway Days. There are many different sponsorship opportunities available from large corporate sponsorships, to non-profit organization information booths.
