Stewardship Extension

After the traditional in-class lesson and field study trip, students and teachers participating in the Greenway Environmental Education Program may sign up for an optional stewardship extension day to do ecological restoration in the Greenway:

Brighton Elementary SSP

Brighton Elementary School students pulled invasive blackberry weeds from Lake Sammamish State Park.
Bailey Gatzert SSP 
Fifth grade students from Bailey Gatzert Elementary School waved their blackberry roots in the air.
 Alcott Elementary SSP

Louisa May Alcott Elementary School students removed invasive holly, ivy and blackberry from Pickering Creek before painting their faces with mud and posing for the camera.
 Gatewood Elementary SSP

Gatewood Elementary School students cared for native trees and shrubs in the Greenway tree nursery.
