Alignment with State and National Standards

NGSS Logo

The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust works hard to provide the best possible value to our school partners. One way we do this is by aligning our curriculums with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

We outlined how our two most popular curriculums support the NGSS Performance Expectations, Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs), Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs), and Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs).

What are the Next Generation Science Standards?

The Next Generation Science Standards are a set of standards that provide consistent science education through all grade levels. Washington State adopted these standards in fall of 2013. (The Next Generation Science Standards are also called the Washington State 2013 Science Learning Standards).

When will my students be tested?

The Next Generation Science Standards assessments will be implemented as early as spring 2018.

Where can I learn more?
