Resources for Registered Teachers

3 girls in trees looking up 5.25.10 We look forward to working with you and your students.

About 3 weeks before your in-class lesson, we will email you a packet to help you prepare for your upcoming programs.

The checklist in your packet is customized for your unique experience. The checklist below applies to teachers who are registered for an in-class lesson, field study trip and stewardship event. All of it may not apply to your specific program.

Arrange for field study trip transportation

    • If you have been approved to use a free King County Wheels to Water bus, you will register for your bus at least 3 weeks before your field study trip.
    • If you are using a school bus or are carpooling, please be sure to schedule transportation.

Arrange for service-learning stewardship event transportation

    • Schedule and pay for a bus(es).
    • You are eligible to be reimbursed up to $250 for a stewardship event bus if your school's free and reduced lunch percentage is 50% or greater. To get reimbursed, email your receipt(s) to Stephanie Huck by the end of the school year (and no later than July 31st).

Teach the Introductory Lesson

Recruit chaperones

    • We ask that you bring 4+ chaperones per class on field study trips, and 3+ chaperones per class on stewardship events.

Print and send home the youth waiver

    • Each participant under the age of 18 years must have a signed youth waiver. One waiver covers a student for the field study trip and stewardship event.
