Registration is Open!

Friday, May 31, 2024
8:30am
Lake Sammamish State Park

Followed by fun mission experiences around Lake Sammamish State Park, in our native plant nursery, and in the Middle Fork Snoqualmie Valley. Please be sure to RSVP for the main event AND for your desired pre or post-event activity at the links below.

Do you enjoy our nearby trails and natural areas? Do you care about wildlife and want to see their habitats restored and protected? Do you believe in the power of connecting with nature and want to foster those connections for local youth? If you answered yes to any of these, we invite you to join our Spring Breakfast where you can connect with other community members who care about these issues, learn how you can get involved, and meet Greenway team members who conserve and enhance local landscapes every day.

This annual event is our unofficial kickoff to summer and all of the fun ways you can get involved in the Greenway NHA over the coming months! Enjoy breakfast in the park, hear from inspiring speakers like Senator Mark Mullet, and then head out on immersive experiences that will provide a behind-the-scenes look at our conservation mission in action.

The Spring Breakfast also serves as our organization’s annual fundraiser and attendee support is essential to sustaining our core programs. If you’d like to make a gift, you can do so here. Thank you for your support!

Meet Our Keynote Speaker, Senator Mark Mullet

We are excited to announce this year’s keynote speaker, Senator Mark Mullet of Washington’s 5th Legislative District, representing the communities of Black Diamond, Issaquah, Maple Valley, North Bend, Renton, Sammamish, and Snoqualmie.

First elected to the Senate in 2012, Mark is currently the Vice Chair of the Senate Ways & Means Committee, where he also serves as the leader of the Senate’s capital budget team. Mark also serves on the Senate Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee and the Senate Business, Financial Services, Gaming & Trade Committee.

Mark is a familiar friend of the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust and the Issaquah community, having served on the Issaquah City Council from 2009 to 2013. His wife Kelley has been a teacher in the Issaquah School District since 1999, and together they have six children that all currently attend or graduated from public school in the Issaquah School District.

Senator Mullet is widely recognized as a collaborative legislator skilled at bringing people together across the aisle to work on major issues like affordable housing, expanding our supply of nurses, access to college, and public safety. His message of collaboration and compromise resonates deeply with the history and accomplishments of the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area, and we’re excited for attendees to hear his inspiring words at this year’s Spring Fundraising Breakfast!
